Steg Engineering is a medium sized General Engineering company that provides services to the in Small to Heavy Machining, Fitting and Fabrication. We carry out large and small scale projects and are able to respond to emergency work around the clock.

Steg Engineering began in 1987 when the founders Steve Bridger and Greg Fitzgerald took their experience of running the BHP Western Port Steel Works' service shop and decided to create their own general engineering workshop in Hastings, Victoria.

From small beginnings Steg has grown not only in size but in capability, experience and most importantly in a trusting customer base. Steg has a diverse customer base and services a range of manufacturers locally, interstate and internationally. We are proud to service Bluescope Steel, Esso, Doen Marine, Emtivac and Andritz, to name just a few. Steg Engineering has built a reputation for our service, including our quality, customer service and timely delivery of projects that is unsurpassed in the industry.

Our extensive experience maintaining Bluescope Steel's machinery has led us to being one of their most trusted machining workshops. We are regularly tasked with the more complex and critical machine components and have made a name for ourselves in mandrel service and manufacture.

Central to our service is our team of 15 qualified and experienced fitters and turners and boilermakers, led by our management team of Aran, Kris and Ben. 

Aran joined the management team in 2013, and as joint director/owner in 2015, who holds a Master of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering and worked for 9 years in Switzerland for Alstom Gas Turbine in the design, product support departments and as a project manager in the sales department. Prior to this Aran worked in the offshore engineering consulting industry and completed his Masters in fluid mechanics and computational fluid dynamics at Monash University.

Kris and Ben have both been trained up from within the business and are uniquely skilled having amassed over total of 50 years of experience. Our high retention rate of our tradespeople is a reflection of Steg Engineering's core beliefs in the skills and importance of the engineering we do.
